The suggested dates for this year’s Illinois Mission Offering (IMO) are September 12-19.  Promotional materials including posters, offering envelopes and videos will be mailed to IBSA churches the first week in August.

Last year Illinois Baptists gave $370,733 to the IMO, which was $10,000 less than the year before and $20,000 short of the goal.  However, in faith, the 2010 goal has been set at $400,000, praying that, even in today’s economy, we can exceed it.

100% of gifts to the IMO will be used within the state to:

• Support nearly 100 Illinois missionaries
• Start 30 new Southern Baptist churches and support several dozen new churches started the previous two years;
• Initiate ministries on 10 additional Illinois college campuses while supporting current ministries on 30 campuses;
• Train 22,500 leaders of existing IBSA churches in priority church ministries
• Provide salary support for 12 Associational Directors of Missions and partner with all 34 Illinois Baptist Associations as they assist their churches in reaching their communities; and,
• Mobilize mission volunteers in at least 200 IBSA churches.
