Long Term Summer Missions
Streator Baptist Camp is prayerfully seeking volunteers to help us give kids and groups a wonderful summer camp experience.
We are looking for either a married couple or a single adult with a heart for seeing children and youth experience the love of Christ.
This is an un-paid position, but the camp does offer lodging in an on-site apartment and will provide most meals. This is a 10-week volunteer opportunity starting May 28 and ending August 4, 2024. The start and end dates can be flexible depending on your need.
The camp volunteers will serve in many different ways. A brief list of things you might be asked to help with are listed below, but the list is not inclusive. Volunteers need to be ready to serve in a variety of ways on any given day. Any training needed will be provided by the camp.
- Assist campers at the lake with fishing, lifejackets, and boat use
- Lead hiking groups
- Assist group leaders with recreation activities
- Assist the camp cooks in the kitchen
- Assist camp manager with grounds and maintenance
- Help lead interns in bible studies
- Help with snowclones
- Help with hayrides
- Help set up campfires
- Assist in weekly camp cleaning
- Help in the snack shack
- Assist coaches with archery, slingshots, or bb guns
Requirements:
- Volunteers must be 18 years or older
- Volunteers must have an active relationship with Jesus
- Must be an active member of an SBC church.
- Volunteers must pass a background check
- Volunteers must be able to pass a ministry safe class
- Volunteers need to be able to have a good attitude wile working well with guests and kids at the camp.
